Sea Creatures Diving is a dive center in Labuan Bajo, Komodo. We provide daily dive trips to the Komodo National Park. Our personalized and high-touch diving experience uses speedboats to get customers to local dive sites quickly and in comfort. We are looking for a Divemaster who can lead dives and ensure the safety and enjoyment of our guests. They will aim to provide the best experience possible to high-end customers from Europe, Australia, and America. English language skills are a must, and additional languages are a plus.

The ideal candidate would be a PADI certified Divemaster with active status and at least two years experience as a divemaster. They are customer focused and are interested in making the experience as enjoyable as possible for guests, even when it means extra effort. The Divemaster is also responsible for planning dives, assessing the conditions of each dive site and determining the best approach, and ensuring that all guests have a safe and successful dive. The ideal candidate is an expert in fish and coral identification and a passion for ocean conservation. They love diving and enjoy introducing others to the underwater world.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead certified divers on daily fun dives
• Maintain control of your dive group while underwater by using good leadership skills, proactively communicating, and identifying potential problems and fixing them
• Be the customer’s primary point of contact on the dive boat and communicate all necessary information to guests
• Organize dive groups by experience level and communicate important information about the customers to each dive lead
• Create an overall plan for all dive groups, for each site, and ensure that all guests are aware of the dive profile
• Have knowledge of tides, moon cycles and currents and use it to make good decisions about which sites to visit each day, and how to dive them safely
• Advise customers on dive courses and upsell when appropriate
• Prepare dive gear and supplies for the following day’s dive and ensure the correct items are on the boat for each trip
• Set-up and break-down customer’s dive gear and assist them in using it, as needed
• Rinse and store gear properly after each dive
• Communicate gear maintenance needs to management on a daily basis
• Possess strong communication skills and a willingness to share information with others

Requirements:

• A customer-first mindset and willingness to go above and beyond to exceed customer expectations
• PADI Divemaster in active status
• EANx speciality and DSD Lead a big plus
• Must have experience diving in strong currents; experience leading dives in the Komodo National Park is a plus but not required
• Must be proactive about protecting the ocean and set a positive example for how to interact with the marine world, including never touching coral or intentionally disturbing wildlife
• At least two years experience as a divemaster
• Fluent in English; other languages a plus
• Safety conscious with a track record of making good decisions about weather/current/tide conditions
• Experience with maintenance of dive gear is a plus
• Positive attitude and a desire to socialize with guests; good sense of humor a big plus
• Ability to work well in a team and make a positive contribution to company culture
• Flexible, proactive, self-motivated with excellent teamwork skills
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and deal with challenging situation
• Indonesian citizens only
