Job Summary

We are looking for a technically skilled and creative Associate Fashion Designer to join our growing slow fashion label HAYAQI. You will be the primary bridge between the creative vision of the CCO and our production team in Bali. You will handle everything from initial product sketches and technical sampling to the "brutal refinement" of our existing silhouettes.

Responsibilities

1. Design & Collection Development

• Conceptual Sketching: Use Procreate to develop initial concepts for new capsule collections, creating illustrations that capture HAYAQI’s aesthetic.
• Technical Flats: Translate creative illustrations into precise technical sketches and make sure the patterns are made with the tailor.
• Existing Refinement: Refine current best-sellers to improve technical details—stitching, lining, and sizing.
• Prototyping: Work directly with our tailors to turn sketches into physical prototypes and oversee sizing tests.

2. Prototyping & Production Management

• Hands-on Sampling: Work directly with our tailors to turn sketches into physical prototypes. You will oversee the "toile" stage and suggest structural adjustments.
• Material Sourcing: Help the team find new suppliers and source for relevant fabrics and materials for the design.
• Fit & Quality Assurance: Lead sizing tests. You will ensure that our patterns provide a consistent, premium fit across different body shapes for both men and women.
• Quality Control: Conduct final inspections of small-batch runs with the operational manager to ensure they meet our standards before they reach the customer.

3. Graphic Design & Visual Assets

• Process Documentation: Create beautiful, "social-ready" digital illustrations of the design process, to be shared with the Social Media Manager.
• Design Storytelling: Help the marketing team by providing graphic assets that explain the craftsmanship, embroidery techniques, or cultural inspirations behind each piece.

Qualifications

• Education: Degree in Fashion Design (or equivalent professional experience).
• Experience: 2+ years of professional design experience. Having worked for at least two different design houses (B2B/Manufacturing) is a major asset.
• Technical Skills: * Expert in Procreate for digital illustration.
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator (for tech packs) and Photoshop.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and fabric drape.
• Language: Native/Professional fluency in Bahasa Indonesia (essential for communicating technical details to Bali-based tailors). Must speak conversational English.
• Logistics: Based in Bali with reliable transport for workshop visits.
