POSITION SUMMARY

To assist the Operations Manager, Power to carry out the company’s commitment and promise delivery of service level to the customers.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Field Service Engineer with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering to join our team. This position will primarily focus on providing on-site service, maintenance, and support for critical electrical systems in data centers, including Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, along with a solid understanding of electrical systems and data center operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, analyzes and prepare root cause analysis report (RCA), 24X7 support of UPS systems and other critical electrical equipment within data centers.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and repair tasks on UPS systems, power distribution units (PDUs), static transfer switch (STS), electrical panels, and related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues, including power outages, UPS failures, and system alarms, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Provide technical support for clients, answering queries and delivering solutions for electrical system issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of service activities, including work orders, reports, and service history.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to ensure seamless integration and operation of electrical systems in the data center.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company procedures while working on-site.
  • Perform regular inspections and testing of electrical systems to ensure they are operating at peak performance.
  • Assist with the training of junior engineers and technicians on electrical systems and best practices.
  • Monitor and track system performance and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience (3-5+ years) in field of service engineering, specifically with UPS systems and data center electrical systems.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including UPS, Battery, STS, PDUs, transformers, and power distribution.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, analyze and prepare root cause analysis report (RCA) electrical issues, read and interpret electrical schematics, and perform hands-on repairs.
  • Familiarity with data center operations and critical power systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with clients and internal teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and procedures related to electrical systems.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with advanced UPS models and other backup power solutions.
  • Familiarity with data center infrastructure management (DCIM) tools.
  • Certifications in UPS maintenance, electrical safety, or similar fields are a plus.
